More Details: This course is based on my book "The 10 Habits of Happy People" and around the truth that “There is no maintainable happiness without ongoing personal progress and a high HQ "Happiness Quotient".
We will concentrate on the 2 main areas of personal happiness (improving our Inner Happiness/HQ and Outer Success/progress). There is a simple pre-test and post test to help measure your personal results. A large variety of happiness concepts will be presented (along with powerful methods of changing your happiness level minute by minute and long term).
We will, of course, continue working on our inner software and HQ (Happiness Quotient) by improving our mind control (positive thinking, creative Thankful comparisons, reducing negative thoughts, regrets, anxieties, improving "effective ownership" abilities, "thankful comparison creativity", improving attitudes and control of our minds, as well as working towards more commitment to our all important spiritual progress. We will continue setting and accomplishing our goals in the 6 areas (and especially making sure we are all improving our health) and make actual physical changes in our environment, adding happy activities as well as reducing "auto pilot" actions and increasing "A" activities etc. With a number of motivation methods like group motivation and small group encouragement emails etc., we can finally start making more personal progress and prioritizing those things that really matter.
We will be utilizing more effective methods including the setting of actual appointments with ourselves each day to accomplish our personal goals (like a daily 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. appointment with "you" where you take no phone calls and act as though you were in a meeting) which greatly increases life changing A activities.
For those who want to increase their businesses, learn new skills like dancing, piano, singing, tennis, learning a foreign language or acquiring a certificate or license etc., we will brain storm and try to come up with the best methods and find the best teachers (and also try and match similar interest people to give each other occasional encouragement emails or calls).
As always, we encouraging implementation of our "Happiness Lists" (things that have made us happy in the past or that we think would make us happier now). Items on the list include things like hobbies we enjoyed in the past (coin/stamp collecting, dolls, knitting, painting, raising fish/animals etc.) riding a bicycle, hiking, going on walks, reading books, playing various sports (tennis, skiing, baseball, bowling, basketball, frisbee etc.), listening to music, meeting with friends, attending classes, dancing, singing, playing the piano or guitar, and many others).
We will also work on improving our actual physical surroundings by better arranging, removing clutter and unnecessary items and expenses (and various ideas on saving money on phone, internet, tv, utilities, travel etc.); also projects we've been wanting to do for months or years like cleaning out and painting a room, finishing a room, starting a garden, installing a nice stereo system, recording our favorite songs, getting a computer and increasing internet speed, starting a reading group, starting a fun avocation or business etc. OR even more dramatically simplifying life and reducing expenses through downsizing your home, renting out a basement, selling or giving away items that haven't been used for over 1 year, drastically reducing monthly expenses by stopping all services that you aren't thourally enjoying and getting a "big bang for your buck" etc. *Kaori and I have a living example of simplifying and reducing our expenses now by renting out our larger St. George home and now thoroughly enjoying living in our small mobile/2nd home in Beaver Dam- with great natural suroundings and views.
In the "Financial area", we will also explain how we turned our over $4,000 a month ongoing minuses in the end of 2009 into almost $3,000 a month of net positive passive income in just 18 months. I'll explain the difficulties I've had (especially with Kaori living/working in Tokyo 16 of the last 20 months and the hit we took with the recent flood and the earthquake in Japan), but the way I've been able to really enjoy this journey too. We also will be working on the powerful transformation, and changing our motives to "Living to give instead of to get". We will discuss greater spiritual attunement. Learning to utilize the love, stability, strength and energy of the spirit to master our mind, body and negative emotions. It becomes so much easier to overcome negative thoughts, emotions, addictive behavior and wasteful habits when we are attuned to the spirit (where we begin to feel the "peace that surpasses all understanding" and the love, courage, joy and energy that allows us to easily win these battles). Over the months (and years) we should feel more and more, that we are joyfully working for a higher purpose. *We will have a deeper discussion on LOVE as "the desire to do good to others" and how to better manifest love effectively and WISELY.
We will have many new people, but we will also have a few former participants including those who will help assist in the class.
